About this role
Nexus Dynamics is looking for a Director of Engineering to lead our 28-person engineering organization through our next phase of growth. You will own delivery across three product teams (Platform, Integrations, and Data), partner closely with Product and Design, and be accountable for engineering velocity, quality, and team health.
What you'll do
- Lead, coach, and grow three engineering teams (currently 28 engineers, 4 managers)
- Own the technical roadmap alongside our VP of Product and drive quarterly planning
- Scale our hiring pipeline — we plan to add 12 engineers over the next 12 months
- Raise the bar on operational excellence: incident response, observability, and SLAs
- Champion pragmatic architecture decisions as we scale past 400 enterprise customers
What we're looking for
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, 5+ years managing engineers and managers
- A track record of scaling B2B SaaS platforms and teams through Series B–D growth
- Strong technical foundation — comfortable going deep on AWS, Kubernetes, TypeScript, and PostgreSQL
- Exceptional hiring instincts and a history of building diverse, high-retention teams
- Clear, low-ego communication with executives and ICs alike
Nice to have: experience with usage-based billing systems, revenue/CRM data platforms, or prior VP/Head-of-Engineering scope.
Compensation: $210k–$245k base + equity. Hybrid from our Austin, TX office (2–3 days/week).
